It was hard to tell it was an investors' forum by the way the crowd whooped it up at the private INXS concert on Wednesday at the Convention and Exhibition Centre.
About 2,000 delegates and guests loosened their ties - and other pieces of clothing - for the CLSA conference gala featuring the Aussie rock legends with their new reality-show-discovered singer JD Fortune (above). After loading up on a sushi and seafood buffet and vast quantities of booze, the audience clapped and sang along to hits like New Sensation and Mystify.
However, not everyone knew who they were - a few suits in the back were heard asking who or what INXS was.
The show took a turn for the wild side when Fortune tried to persuade one flirtatious girl to flash her breasts after he showed her his flat abs. Then, boardroom decorum totally went out the window as a couple of bras were thrown on stage, to the amusement of the band.
Guitarist Andrew Farriss tried to drape one over band mate Kirk Pengilly, who was having none of it. At the end of the show, a male investment banker was heard sheepishly asking the crew to return his bra. No, we didn't ask because we didn't want to know.
