Creative writers sought for short story contest

The Women in Publishing Society is calling for short stories from 1,000 to 2,000 words. The theme is 'lost and found'. Writers aged 12 to 18 should submit their stories with application forms (available at www.culture-hongkong.com) by November 15. The first prize includes a HK$1,000 Dymocks book coupon. HKU to publish poetry collection

The University of Hong Kong is publishing an anthology of modern Chinese poetry to mark the 80th anniversary of its School of Chinese. The University of Hong Kong Poetry Anthology comprises 90 poems by 31 alumni and students.

Two MBA courses in top 40

Two local MBA programmes are among the top 40 in the world this year, according to a survey by the Economist Intelligence Unit. Hong Kong University of Science of Technology's course ranked 20th and was top in Asia. The University of Hong Kong's ranked 37th.

Bloggers in academic exchange

Six student ambassadors from Hong Kong Institute of Education are set to blog from Switzerland, Japan and China during an academic exchange during which they will interview professors. The blog, at www.thinkbigwithu.hk, will be online later this month.

Open days at PolyU

Polytechnic University is holding open days today and tomorrow for secondary school students to learn more about its programmes and facilities. Local athletes will attend to promote the Beijing Olympics.
