LURED by China's enormous market potential, about 500 exhibitors from 20 countries have joined a jewellery and watch trade fair which will be held in Beijing in November.
Jennifer Law, public relations manager of Headway Trade Fairs, one of the organisers, said the fair would be the largest of its kind in China in terms of numbers of exhibitors.
''China is a potential market to many different industries,'' Ms Law said.
She said the fair had expanded to four exhibition halls from two as initially planned as a result of the enthusiastic response from manufacturers, adding that the organisers were now looking into further expansion of the exhibition space.
The Beijing International Jewellery, Watch, Spectacles and Technical Equipment Fair will be held from November 3 to 7 at the China World Trade Centre.
National groups will come from Italy, Taiwan, Australia, Germany and Singapore, as well as China.
Other participating countries include Belgium, Brazil, Hong Kong, India, Indonesia, Israel, Japan, South Korea, Poland, Sri Lanka, Switzerland, Thailand, Britain and the US.
