Fijian legend Waisale Serevi, who coached Taiwan this weekend, said he was willing to return as a player-coach for next year's World Cup Sevens in Dubai.
'If the Fiji Rugby Union wants me, I would be willing to come back as a player-coach. My immediate task is to see that Taiwan qualify for the World Cup at the Asian qualifiers in October. But I'm free after that and I'm always available for Fiji,' said Serevi (pictured).
He blamed the six-try Cup semi-final rout by New Zealand on poor defensive play from Fiji. 'Our defensive system was poor and when we had the ball, we didn't hold on to it. New Zealand took their chances well,' added Serevi, who stepped down from his position as Fiji coach at the end of last season.
Since his departure, Fiji have still to win an IRB Sevens tournament.
