Lorraine Hahn

TV host

Reading: Patricia Cornwell's latest two books. 'I love crime and thrillers. I would have loved to have been a forensic pathologist if I had been disciplined enough at university.'

Heroes: 'I have many people I look up to. My father never ceases to amaze me with his brilliance and compassion.'

Getaway: 'Any place where there is a golf course. Sanya, on Hainan Island, is lovely but so is my favourite: Malaysia. Good food, fun people and golf.'

Clothing: sweat pants. 'I never leave home without a pair. They're so comfortable, especially when you travel a lot like I do. And they don't wrinkle.'

Footwear: loafers. 'Again, for comfort, although those Christian Louboutins are pretty comfortable.'

Perfume: 'Annick Goutal perfumes are my favourite. They're light, crisp and clean smelling. I also like Blue by Ralph Lauren.'

Food: 'I love Chinese hot pot and what they call 'typhoon shelter' food: dishes such as salt and pepper prawns and chilli and garlic crabs.'

Gripe: air quality. 'Pollution seems to be getting worse ... that's why I am drawing attention to [it and] the worsening climate conditions through my new show, Earth Factor Asia, which will soon air in North America.'

However: 'There is no place in the world like Hong Kong. When you have lived here long enough - I have been here for 20 years - [you realise] it is efficient. We have some of the best shopping and restaurants and I have never felt safer.'

Something you're never without: 'The jade pendant that was given to me 30 years ago by my grandmother.'

Two things you'd take to a desert island: 'The person I love dearly and a beer.'
