Exciting career opportunity

If you have a strong background in insolvency or restructuring, and relish the idea of global travel, read on.

An organisation with a proven track record for delivering practical and efficient solutions around the world is looking for senior managers and managers with insolvency experience.

Borrelli Walsh is a specialist, independent restructuring, insolvency and forensic accounting firm based in Hong Kong.

'We are looking to recruit senior restructuring, insolvency and forensic professionals whose primary role will be working with our managing directors, leading the firm's insolvency and restructuring assignments,' said Jacqueline Walsh, joint managing director of Borrelli Walsh.

The role was very hands on, with substantial time spent with clients and on site, Ms Walsh said.

'The successful candidates will be at the front line of this firm's major assignments - leading other employees, and working with clients and other advisers,' said Cosimo Borrelli, joint managing director of Borrelli Walsh.

The new recruits would work with four to six team members, although this depended on the size and nature of the job, Mr Borrelli said.

As the firm is looking to expand across the region and also internationally, successful candidates stand a strong prospect of becoming leaders of its businesses around the world.

Borrelli Walsh consisted of 32 like-minded, highly motivated and international people who really enjoyed what they did, Ms Walsh said.

'Our core team has worked together for at least six years and new members have fitted into and added to the united team atmosphere,' she said.

The key ingredient for candidates is a strong background in insolvency or restructuring.

The ideal candidate is hard-working, open-minded and results-oriented, and can place a critical focus on helping clients achieve what they need in a low-risk environment.

The level of travel will depend on the nature of the assignments at the time.

'Some of our assignments are in the Netherlands, Singapore, British Virgin Islands, Bermuda, Texas and Nevada and, as always, the mainland and Macau,' Mr Borrelli said.

A highlight of the role is the opportunity to lead international, and often intense, assignments and the element of uncertainty and difficulty that comes with any distressed assignment.

'Distress is rarely planned - it's the nature of our business to deal with the deck of cards that we are given, often at short notice - and that's what makes it interesting,' Mr Borrelli said

He said that a ready rapport with candidates was a key part of the selection process, which was primarily held through meetings and discussions with candidates.
