Expanding relocations business has opening for a young and enthusiastic regional financial controller
An intelligent, enthusiastic and caring accounting professional is required to fill a challenging role within a young local business.
A dynamic relocations company is seeking applicants for the brand new role of regional financial controller.
Relocasia provides a broad range of relocation, moving and storage solutions to consumers, corporations and governments worldwide, offering innovative services to meet the constantly evolving needs of its customers. In the past two years, it has opened offices in mainland China and in the United Arab Emirates.
'This role is for a regional finance person to hone the systems we have,' said Matt Burden, Relocasia's group managing director. 'We want someone innovative to come in and tighten everything up. It's an ideal opportunity for an accountant who is young and commercially minded.'
Reporting to the managing director, the new recruit will oversee all aspects of the group accounts, in addition to implementing and nurturing a system to accommodate Relocasia's explosive growth.
The role offered a great chance to get to grips with financial operations throughout the company, Mr Burden said. 'We have a good accounting structure and system in place, but this offers an exciting opportunity to come in and revamp what we already have.'
Rather than seeking an experienced regional financial controller with a proven track record, the role is suited to an individual with the ability to grow into this position.
'It is an opportunity to start slowly and grow within a fun, dynamic and international atmosphere,' he said. 'We are not a typical Hong Kong company, in that our team includes a lot of young people with families - and we encourage the wellness side of working.'
Applicants should note that, since most Relocasia clients are expatriates, the role demands an individual who speaks fluent English. Candidates should also be willing to travel once every quarter to each of the company's offices overseas, including the mainland, the United Arab Emirates and, from next year, Singapore.
While accounting skills are a basic requisite for the job, the role primarily requires someone who can fit in with the Relocasia team and atmosphere.
'The spirit transfers to our clients, suppliers and vendors, so they can see we are enthusiastic and enjoy what we do. With the nature of our company, the character of the person is actually more important than qualifications.'
