Learn to balance work and activities

Forms Six and Seven are a busy time. The A-levels are a big challenge and we are also expected to take part in extra-curricular activities.

People say as you grow older, you have to take on more responsibilities. You also have to set a good example for those younger than you.

But perhaps the biggest goal during your last years at school is to ensure you get a place at university or a good job. This means you need good academic results.

It is important to strike a balance between work, extra-curricular activities and rest. All three aspects are important for success.

Learn good time management skills, and your last two years of school will be fun and profitable.

From the Editor

Thank you for your letter, Carmen. The last two years of school are indeed crucial - our performance affects our future.

But you should also remember they are just two years of your life, and you must not put yourself under too much pressure.

While it is great to get top marks in all your exams, it is also important to allow other sides of your character to develop.

Forms Six and Seven are good years to join new societies, learn new skills and try new sports and activities. It's a great time to really get to know your friends and build bonds that will last a lifetime.

Dare to live your dreams so when you look back on your final years at school, there's more to your memories than books.
