'A meeting with former Hong Kong governor Chris Patten: What Next? Surviving the Twenty-first Century' is a book signing session to be held at The Commercial Press, Tsim Sha Tsui book centre. Lord Patten sails back to Hong Kong with book in hand this time for a signing and sharing session about his new book which raises a daunting list of challenges facing the world today. These include globalisation, energy, international crime, weapons of mass destruction and epidemic diseases. He will talk about how to get closer to where we want to be in today's state of affairs.

'Mergers and Acquisitions - Risks Beyond the Balance Sheet' is a lunchtime seminar organised by the Hong Kong General Chamber of Commerce. The objective is to help attendees learn how to identify and mitigate risks when doing business in developed and developing Asia. Using Japan and Vietnam as examples, the speaker will talk about the importance of following standard courses of due diligence, such as credit checks, balance sheet analysis and legal compliance verifications.
