National-education programme gets boost with HK$5.6m grant

Chinese University has been given a HK$5.6 million grant from the Quality Education Fund to develop national-education programmes. Starting next month, the two-year programme will feature projects on and visits to the mainland with the aim of strengthening the national identity of 30 schoolchildren.

PolyU gets corporate donation

Karrie International Holdings has donated HK$500,000 to Polytechnic University in support of its academic research and creative training programmes. The company has also pledged to provide internships in construction planning and hotel management for students.

Lingerie experts bare all to students

Designers, industrialists and academics shared briefs on 'intimate apparel' design at Polytechnic University symposium this week. About 170 local and overseas lingerie experts shared their experience and industry insight with students.

VTC launches online educational game

The Vocational Training Council has introduced an interactive online game for youths to teach them about industry information. The game (www.vtc.edu.hk/loadme) features music and animated games about various industries including tourism, aviation and design.

Videos on gender issues to screen

A free screening of students' videos exploring gender issues will be shown tomorrow. The videos will be shown from 3pm to 5pm at the auditorium of the Hong Kong Federation of Youth Groups Building in North Point.
