Website woes delay digital design contest

It seems ironic that a digital design contest has problems with its website. However, that's the case with the Cut & Paste competition, an international event begun in New York whose local chapter is sponsored by the Hong Kong Ambassadors of Design.

The competition - for budding design artists and creative types in the realms of 2D, 3D and motion design media - has been having problems with access to its link for entrants in the Asia-Pacific region. As a result, organisers are extending the entry deadline to this Friday.

The design tournament began in 2005 and now spans the globe. This year's tour will include test rounds in 16 cities. The preliminary in Hong Kong is now March 28 and 29, with the finals on May 15 at the China Resources Building.

Anyone can enter but obviously you should have some knowledge and skill in creating digital graphics and visuals. And you need an online portfolio as part of your entry. Audience members at the local finals will be able to take part in their own contest, as special areas will be set up for people to create electronically generated T-shirt designs.
