With his reputation for sexy photos that straddle the line between sultry and skanky, Japanese photographer Yasumasa Yonehara (aka Yone, pictured) had the local press abuzz at Club M1NT last Thursday night.
At a cocktail reception and preview of his exhibition, Partouze, which is being held at the Jockey Club Creative Arts Centre in Shek Kip Mei, Yone did a live photo shoot with five local hotties, including current 'it' girl Chrissie Chau Sau-na, who rose to Hong Kong pin-up fame after appearing in just a single weight-loss advertisement wearing a bikini.
To add even more spice to the session, Taiwanese artist Reach body-painted the girls. As Yone was shooting away with his two Polaroid cameras, it was a veritable geek fest, with even more lensmen behind him snapping at the girls in their skimpy attire.
One of Yone's most recent works is a book on Japanese porn actresses called Tokyo Amour. However, he explained he had no special preferences when it came to models. 'What is more important is the mood created during a shoot.'
OK, then are there other topics and subjects of interest to the 50-year-old photographer? 'I like to shoot anything that is interesting, but I am only interested in girls,' Yone said with a laugh. His exhibition runs until Thursday at 30 Pak Tin Street, Shek Kip Mei.
