Border traffic expected to surpass 10m

About 10.37 million people will pass through land, sea and air borders during the Christmas and New Year holidays, an 8 per cent rise compared with the same period last year, the Immigration Department said. Some 3.8 million will cross at Lo Wu from tomorrow to January 4. Inbound flow at Lo Wu will be busiest on Sunday and heavy for outbound traffic on Christmas Day. At Lok Ma Chau, 1.51 million people are expected.
