With a nice draw, Dash can prove too good

Trainer Dennis Yip Chor-hong has started 2010 in fine form with three winners from two meetings and can continue his good fortune with Dash in the first leg of Sunday's Triple Trio at Sha Tin.

Dash opened his campaign on October 11 with a promising fourth behind Flying Supreme over an unsuitable 1,200 metres on the turf, and has been threatening to greet the judge in his last two starts over this dirt trip.

In his first dirt outing, the seven-year-old was always deep in the run from gate 12 and kept on strongly after a prominent trip to come up a head short behind Sichuan Hero in mid-November.

At his next start last month, he eventually found cover 1,200m out again from gate 12, and then grinded his way home to be beaten 1.25 lengths by rival Be Grateful.

Regular rider Eddie Lai Wai-ming should have Dash travelling sweetly from gate six and Yip has done his part by keeping him sharp and ready with eight 800m gallops since his last run.

Be Grateful has nine pounds more to carry, but came alive with a move to a pacifier and cowl and is again drawn to get the run of the race, while Golden Ball, Healthy Blueberry, Magic Turbo, Sabina and Best Noodle are worth including.

Perfect Gear will be backing up after only three days' rest, but has rounded into top form with solid back-to-back efforts over the 1,200m - a win and a second behind Lucky Amore - and remains a leading chance over a suitable 1,400m in the middle leg.

High Intelligent rattled off seven straight top-three finishes before a luckless fourth after a tough trip last time from a wide alley and can play a dual banker role.

National Treasure, third in both his 1,200m runs and ideally suited by the 1,400m, All Time High, a likely improver from a good gate and with a return to Class Four, Spectacular Award, Quantum Express, Moonglow and Conqueror are other chances.

In the final leg, Mighty Sun has excelled over the dirt mile with two wins and a close second from as many starts, and the son of the stamina influential Zabeel is a logical banker from gate two.

Great Land's Star made a good impression on the all-weather track in November and will be suited by the 1,800m, while Man In The Mirror, a winner of his only 1,800m dirt outing, My Whisky, Amazing Choice, Ample Gains and Silver Blaze are also capable of figuring in the finish.
