200 evacuated as flat blaze spreads

About 200 residents were evacuated from a fire at a public housing estate in Ngau Tau Kok yesterday. The blaze broke out around 2pm in a fourth-floor flat and spread to other units in Choi Yuet House, Choi Ha Estate. Ten residents were stranded in their flats until they were rescued by firemen. The fire was extinguished in half an hour and no injuries were reported.
