Animal attractions

Travellers missing their furry friends can now enjoy the companionship of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts' resident dogs. 'Canine ambassadors' are the newest members of the guest-relations teams at Fairmont properties, including those in California, in the United States; Vancouver, in Canada; and Kenya. Trained as guide dogs for the blind, the animals' duties vary from greeting guests to providing security and company on walks or runs. Departing guests can stay in touch with their new four-legged friends via e-mail, snail mail, Facebook and - of course - by revisiting the hotel. For details, go to www.fairmont.com/promotions/canineambassadors.
