Private Detective

As the title suggests, the 47-minute piece examines a private eye roaming cities collecting proof of infidelity for his clients, with his work revealing the state of matrimony in China.

A look at the tragic consequences of Mao Zedong's 1960s campaign of sending intellectuals to work in the country's hinterlands by tracking a man's melancholic homecoming to Beijing, 40 years he left the capital for 're-education' in rural Yenan.

Heavy Metal

Workers brave toxic fumes and other hazards as they dismantle metal and electronic junk - a damning critique of how the government lets foreign countries use China as a rubbish dump.

No Tears in Three Gorges

Liu Gujun is a fisherman who strives to clear the debris produced by the Three Gorges Dam project.
