Man accused of injuring wife with liquid

An unemployed man accused of throwing corrosive liquid at his wife because he suspected she was having an affair appeared in Sha Tin Court yesterday. Wong Chi-sing, 59, was charged with causing grievous bodily harm, with intent, to Song Ziqin at their home in Pai Tau Tsuen in Sha Tin on June 28. Their nine-year-old daughter, Wong Ching-yeung, was also hurt. The accused did not enter a plea. Principal Magistrate Andrew Ma Hon-cheung heard that Song was still in a critical condition in an intensive care unit. He adjourned the case until July 15. Wong was remanded in custody.
