A fish belt and a handbag made of raspberries? Italian lensman gives locals a taste of his art

Italian photographer Fulvio Bonavia (pictured) won't settle for cheap champagne or cold canap?on a photo shoot.

'I notice people forget to eat when they are at work,' the Milan-based photographer said. 'I'd rather work longer but have a decent meal.'

Bonavia combines his passions for food and art in his exhibition, 'Taste Matters', in which he portrays food as fashion in 23 images to be displayed at The Landmark mall's atrium until July 23. Some of Bonavia's most prominent works include a fish belt, an aubergine ballerina and a raspberry handbag.

'Most of the food photography is similar; they all look appetising. But I want more. I want food to look luxurious and become objects of desire, like fashion,' said Bonavia, who started the project three years ago. 'You have to be very fast when [you are] photographing food because [the subjects] die quickly under the strong light.'

Bonavia also prefers traditional film cameras to digital ones.

'I hope technology grows not only in efficiency,' he said. 'Film cameras produce more natural images.'
