Power of music

A song is made up of many notes. Different songs in the world have different melodies. But why are there different songs? I think it's just the exchange of position of the notes. It's interesting that if you just move one note, the melody of the song changes. I love listening to different kinds of songs, whether pop or classical. And I have different feelings when I listen to different kinds of songs.

Songs with a fast tempo, for example pop songs, make people happy. So when you want to cheer yourselves up, this type of song is the best choice.

Slow, soft songs can make people comfortable, especially when they are tense or have argued with friends or relatives. Such songs may help you think of solutions to your problems.

When you face difficulties at work, calm, relaxing music can help you feel that the world is full of hope. Listening to calming music is as good as a visit to the doctor.

From the Editor

Thank you for your letter, Cindy. Music and musicians are some of the world's biggest money-makers. Although individual performers do not necessarily become millionaires, they are part of a massive industry worth billions of dollars.

But music is so much more than a way for people to make money. It has long been seen as a way to improve health and well-being - whether through listening or performing. Music therapy is well established as a treatment for many physical and psychological ills.

Music can have a powerful impact on our emotions. Listening to loud rock music can help us release frustration, while a classical symphony can help us relax. Energetic pop can give us a boost of energy, while soft folk songs can soothe the soul.

Different types of music affect us all differently, but there is no doubt that listening to music can improve our mood.

The next time you feel sad, angry or tired, decide what sort of music will make you feel better. And if you are already in a wonderful mood, identify the sort of music that will keep you happy.
