More delays in flights to mainland

The proportion of flights from Hong Kong to mainland destinations that were delayed rose from 3.6 per cent to 6.7 per cent in the space of 12 months, Civil Aviation Department figures show. In June, 395 of the 5,932 mainland-bound flights were delayed, compared with 203 out of 5,680 in July last year. The main causes for delays were bad weather, limitations on air routes or air space and overloading of air traffic control capacity, transport minister Eva Cheng said.
