THE tanker market remains quiet while the dry side has seen another healthy week in terms of number of sales.
The Petrofina-controlled Aframax tanker Fina America (87,368 dwt), built by Mitsubishi in 1979, has been sold to Lundquist on an off-market basis for about US$11.5 million.
The ore-bulk-oil carrier Konstantinos (99,089 dwt), built by Oresundsvarvet in 1972, has been sold to Pakistani trading buyers for $3.15 million.
In the bulk carrier market, the Capesize ore carrier Oceania (137,240 dwt), built by Sumitomo in 1976, has been sold at $6.6 million, reportedly to Piraeus buyers.
Three Panamax sales also have been announced.
Crna Gora (64,657 dwt), built by Sumitomo in 1978, has been sold for $8.1 million at auction to Vernicos.
Starshine (61,059 dwt), built by Hitachi in 1975, has been sold to undisclosed buyers at $5.4 million.
Bulk Topaz (61,460 dwt), built by Hitachi in 1971, has been sold to Chinese buyers at $2.3 million.
Kapetan Trader (42,310 dwt), built by Nipponkai in 1984, has been sold to COSCO Singapore at $14.5 million.
Sea-Praxis is believed to have purchased Western Humboldt (37,696 dwt), built by Mitsubishi in November 1984, at an undisclosed price.
The Arbela (41,049 dwt), built in 1975 by Sanoyasu, has been sold to Piraeus buyers for $4.7 million.
PLM has sold the Dorothy and Adriane (38,800 dwt), built by Mitsui in 1976 and 1975, to Turkish buyers at $6.65 million and $6.25 million, respectively.
The Hami (22,170 dwt), built by Sanoyasu in 1978, has been sold to Greeks at $4.5 million.
Halla of South Korea have purchased Sammi Spirit (26,318 dwt), built by Kurushima in 1984, at around $10.6 million.
The Stjepov (26,505 dwt) built by Usuki in 1972, has been sold at $2.6 million to undisclosed buyers.
