South Korea has more to offer than just fancy 'nip tuck' clinics and tear-jerking television soaps. When it comes to the national cuisine, kimchi is second to none.
The Korean Women's Association of Hong Kong hosted a fun event last weekend to share the taste of South Korea at the Olympian City mall.
Some 40 members of the Korean Cooks Federation joined forces with Hong Kong's Association of Korean Restaurants to present cooking demonstrations and food tasting at 10 food booths, serving snacks, sweets and drinks.
There was kimchi, vegetable bibim bahb (a rice dish mixed with vegetables, chilli paste and sesame oil), beef bulkoki (Korean-style barbeque) and rice cakes. Lucky shoppers were also treated to a sample from a giant bowl of bibim bahb.
Traditional Korean drummers as well as the top three Miss Korea contestants were booked to bring more fun to the event. Guests tried to make rice cakes and kimchi, adding a bit of spice.Topics: Cuisine Food and Drink Kimchi Korean Cuisine
