Ex-police inspector to face court over drugs made in Vietnam
A former senior police inspector who was jailed for 11 months in June for misconduct in public office has been charged by the Independent Commission Against Corruption for allegedly aiding and abetting a drug trafficker to make Ice in Vietnam three years ago. Francis Lam Koon-wah, 41, will appear in Kowloon City Court today pending transfer to the District Court.
Expat arrested for drink-driving
An expatriate man, 35, was arrested for drink-driving after reversing his car into a parked school bus in Sun Yip Street, Chai Wan, at about 2am. He was released on bail of HK$5,000.
Man held after dispute in flat
Police arrested a 42-year-old man for injuring his lover and her female friend with a knife in a dispute over money in a flat in Shing Kwok House in Kwai Shing East Estate, Kwai Chung. The two women were treated for minor injuries at Princess Margaret Hospital.
Police probe burglaries
Police are investigating whether four reports of burglary in Tsuen Wan Market Street and Shiu Wo Street were linked. More than HK$8,500 was stolen from a cafe and a bakery but no property was stolen from the other two shops.
Driver who fled crash sought
Police are looking for a driver who crashed his car into a parked van in Shun Ning Road, Cheung Sha Wan. Police said the driver abandoned the vehicle before officers arrived.
Six held after Wan Chai brawl
Six people - three men and three women - were arrested after a brawl in Bowrington Road, Wan Chai, between the staff of two restaurants.
