A Power Plant of art in Kowloon park

The Hong Kong Arts Festival is presenting 'Power Plant:', an exhibition of installation art, at the Kowloon Walled City Park. The project is led by British producer Simon Chatterton and five visual and sound artists.

'Power Plant aims to create an interplay between art, the audience and the environment - and every person will respond differently,' Chatterton says. At night, the park is transformed into a sensory world blending kaleidoscopic lights and sound with the traditional elements of the Chinese garden.

Chatterton has adapted the project to the park following its success at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival in Britain and Sydney Festival in Australia.

'Although many of the pieces travel to different gardens, they are always sited differently in different places and take on a feel that is individual to the site,' he says.

Power Plant shows every evening except Mondays until March 13. Tickets are available on Urbtix.
