Choi Palace

Few restaurants in the Eastwood City area have stirred up as much of a buzz as newly opened Chinese eatery Choi Palace.

Named after its illustrious owner, affectionately known as Mr Choi, it is the third in a series of eponymous outlets that include a fresh seafood restaurant and a Hong Kong-style cafe.

Choi Palace is largely known for its fresh ocean delicacies, such as haute lobster sashimi and its popular Australian abalone in oyster sauce. The restaurant is also well regarded for its desserts - a rarity for Chinese dining outlets. Chief among the sinful indulgences is the cream-filled hot taro soup. The mango jelly is also quite the contender.

Connected via an overhead walkway to the Eastwood Richmonde Hotel, Choi Palace is ideally situated for those visiting the area on business - particularly if you're looking to impress clients.

The main dining room is dominated by large round tables, each draped in inviting yellow-gold linens. The bright set-up offers a fitting juxtaposition to the luscious black carpeting that covers most of the restaurant's floor space. The other furnishings also lean towards the ornate, and the extravagant dishware, decorated in beautiful empire etchings, carries the theme.

Choi Palace can seat up to 250 diners. For more intimate affairs, such as corporate board meetings, the restaurant also offers six private rooms, ideal for 15 people each.
