Six boys aged as young as 11 were given cash by a 37-year-old man after engaging in sexual acts with him, a court was told yesterday.
Lee Kwok-wai pleaded guilty at the Court of First Instance to 12 charges involving the boys, aged 11 to 13, between 2005 and July last year. He admitted six counts of homosexual buggery, four of indecent assault, and one each of making child pornography, and indecent conduct towards a child under the age of 16.
Madam Justice Esther Toh Lye-ping adjourned sentencing to April 27, pending background and psychological reports on Lee.
One of the boys met Lee, who is unemployed, in Sham Shui Po. A man called Tommy introduced Lee to two others, one of whom introduced another boy. Another met Lee through a schoolmate.
The boys were paid between HK$100 and HK$500 each for acts including kissing, masturbation and anal sex. Lee did not use a condom during the anal sex.
Two of the boys met Lee after running away from home. One of them was told by a friend and classmate, who was also one of the victims, he knew a man who would pay HK$300 to HK$400 for anal sex.
'Since [he] had left home and was in need of money, he agreed to meet the [defendant],' senior public prosecutor Rosaline Leung Sun-yee said.
The other runaway met Lee when he was hanging around the Sham Shui Po area. Lee approached the boy and asked to be his friend.
'After the defendant knew that [he] had nowhere to go, he invited [him] to spend a night at his place,' Leung said. Later that night, Lee touched the boy, took explicit photographs and told the boy to touch him.
Some of the incidents occurred at a guest house in Sham Shui Po.
Lee was arrested last July on suspicion of committing sexual offences with under-age boys. Police found pornographic images of some young males on his mobile phone.
