Fu exits World Championship

Marco Fu Ka-chun crashed out of the World Championship in the first round yesterday, losing to Martin Gould for the second year in a row. Fu lost to the Londoner 10-9 at the same stage last year, and gave away a 6-3 lead yesterday to lose 10-8. Gould raced through the first five frames to go 8-6 up and when Fu missed an easy chance in frame 18 with the score at 9-8, the Englishman capitalised. 'The frame to go 9-8 up was massive,' said Gould. 'I knew if I won the first couple of frames he would start feeling the pressure, and I knew I could handle it.'
