If you can sing or play a musical instrument well, Young Music Makers 2011 is for you.

The competition is hosted by Radio Television Hong Kong (RTHK) Radio 4 and is open for applications until May 16. Applicants must have a permanent Hong Kong ID card.

The age limit for young vocalists (solo or ensemble) and intrumentalists are birth dates on or after May 16, 1983 and May 16, 1988, respectively.

After a first-round audition, the selected 13 candidates will be invited to a live audition at RTHK Radio 4 and RTHK ETV. Their performances will be recorded to a CD and distributed free.

Past winners of the long-standing competition include world-renowned tenor Warren Mok, pianist Colleen Lee Ka-ling, and Lung Heung-wing, a former principal percussionist of the Hong Kong Philharmonic.

Tune in to RTHK Radio 4 every Saturday at 2pm for advice about performing at the auditions.
