Disco Bay ferry fares set to rise 7.5pc

Ferry passengers travelling between Discovery Bay and Central may have to pay an average of 7.5 per cent more from the middle of this month. Discovery Bay Transportation Services had sought a 9 per cent rise but the Transport Department, while deeming an increase necessary in light of inflation, scaled it back. The increase would 'enable the provision of sustainable service', the operator of ferries to and from the Lantau garden suburb said.
