The star lot of Bonhams' Fine Chinese Paintings and Modern Asian Art auction is a piece of calligraphy written by the Yongzheng Emperor (1678-1735) in 1724 to reward General Yue Zhongqi for suppressing the rebellion of Qinghai in the second year of the Yongzheng period. Lot 603's estimated worth is between HK$250,000 and HK$350,000.

More than 90 lots of exceptional paintings by acclaimed Chinese masters and Asian artists will be for sale with an estimated value of HK$18.2 million. Another highlight is lot 630 (estimate HK$1 million - HK$1.5 million), entitled Queen Mother of the West and painted in the Tang style by Zhang Daqian (1899-1983) in 1945 after he returned from Dunhuang.
