Lai to cause a boilover

Alex Lai Hoi-wing can get the early points on the board and give the favourites a scare as a $20 chance in the fixed-odds Jockey Challenge market at Happy Valley tonight.

Lai has six rides and, with Mount Surplus and Lunar Reflections both good chances in the opening few races, the newly wed can help pay off his reception.

Brett Prebble ($3.75 favourite) and Douglas Whyte ($4) are dangerous as always, but neither look over the line and that leaves the path open for Lai to cause a boilover.
