There seems to have been a steady procession of Mando-pop singers from across the Taiwan Strait taking the stage in Hong Kong lately. After last weekend's concert by Taiwan-based Malaysian songstress Fish Leong Jing-ru, next in line is Taiwanese heartthrob Show Luo Zhi-xiang.
Luo was in town last week to announce the addition of one more show to the Hong Kong leg of his Encore World Live Tour next month at the Coliseum.
'I wish I could [hold more shows] but I really don't have enough time. But I'm sure [the shows] will be a different, fresh and exciting experience for my fans,' he said.
The singer-dancer said he would also give the concerts a local touch with the addition of a Cantonese song to the programme.
'I haven't practised enough yet, but I'll sing it from my heart and do the best I can,' Luo said. 'I hope my fans can forgive my Cantonese because, after all, it's not my mother tongue. I'll at least be prepared to pull off the song I'll be performing.'
Since his rumoured-girlfriend Taiwanese pop queen Jolin Tsai will also be holding a concert in Hong Kong this summer, will he ask her to lend her star power to his show?
'I can't tell you which guests will be performing ... but it won't be Jolin. I can't make it to her show either because I'll be working somewhere else. But of course, I wish her the best of luck for a good show.'
