University of California professor keeps tab on innovation and media at CityU lecture

Members of social science societies from the city's academic community should pencil in the upcoming 'Diffusion of Innovations: Theoretical Extensions' lecture at City University (below). Hosted by Dr Ronald Rice, a communication professor from the University of California, Santa Barbara, the talk will highlight how new ideas, practices, products and technologies diffuse through social systems over time. Part of the lecture will focus on the role of media vis-?-vis innovation, as well as innovation in media itself. June 17, 4.30-6pm. Cambridge expert on bone repair at PolyU

Professor Serena Michelle of Cambridge University will talk on ceramic skeletal repair on July 8, from 11am to noon, at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University.

The ceramic material in question bonds directly to the bone and has long been a hot topic among specialists in the field.

HKU hosts fun day for recovering patients

The University of Hong Kong's (HKU) Social Service Group is hosting a games and team-building day for patients recovering from mental illnesses, in an effort to help them reintegrate into society. Group seeks summer mentors for kids

Interested in doing something rewarding this summer? The University of Hong Kong's Christian Society is looking for mentors who can put in a few hours a week at the Evangel Children's Home.
