Several major projects in Shenyang by leading Hong Kong-based property developers are likely to be launched on the market over the next few years.
New World The Elite is a residential and commercial project by New World China Land (NWCL). This mixed-use development, which comprises upscale apartments, a shopping arcade and international hotels, is located in the city's renowned commercial area Taiyuan Street in Heping district. In addition to its convenient access to train and subway stations, New World The Elite overlooks the 190,000 square metre Zhongshan Park.
The lower levels of New World The Elite feature six floors of retail space, from Basement 1 to Level 5, with a gross floor area of 23,000 square metres. A clubhouse for apartment residents is situated on Level 6, which features formal dining areas, a special function room and sports facilities.
The upper floors are occupied by 460 apartment units, ranging in size from 67 to 178 square metres. Concierge services are provided for residents. The project also includes a rooftop sky garden.
Sales of the apartments are slated to start in the third quarter of next year and completion of the entire complex is expected by June 2013.
The construction of Shenyang New World Centre by NWCL is also in progress. The mixed-use development is expected to be the new landmark at the core of the city's new central business district, the Golden Corridor. Shenyang New World Centre is surrounded by Qingnian Main Street (known as the Golden Corridor) to the east, the Second Ring Road to the north and the Hun River to the south.
The overall gross floor area of the project is about 1.3 million square metres. The project comprises an exhibition centre, a five-star luxury hotel, another hotel under a European brand, K11 Art Mall, office towers and residential apartment blocks. Completion of Phase 1 of Shenyang New World Centre is expected to be in mid-2013, according to NWCL.
Henderson Land Development has been working on its integrated project Shenyang IFC in the Shenyang Finance and Trade Development Zone in Shenhe district. This development comprises a grade-A office tower, high-end shopping mall, five-star hotel and serviced apartments.
World-renowned architects are involved in the project's design. Pei Partnership Architects has been appointed consultant for the 89-storey mega tower, while Aedas Architects is responsible for designing the master plan of the development.
The project will have a gross floor area of 667,653 square metres, including the basement.
On its completion in 2013, the tower is expected to be one of the tallest skyscrapers in the mainland.
