They tied the knot in the Italian city of Florence two months ago, but this weekend singer-actress Karen Mok Man-wai and husband Johannes Natterer celebrated in Hong Kong with about 300 friends and relatives.
The couple started Sunday with a traditional Chinese marriage ritual and tea ceremony at the Mandarin Oriental hotel then hosted an afternoon cocktail party at the American Club in Tai Tam.
The guest list included former chief secretary Anson Chan Fang On-sang and a slew of Mok's show business friends, such as filmmaker Peter Chan Ho-sun, Canto-pop king Eason Chan Yik-shun and actress Josie Ho Chiu-yee. Mok wore a couture dress from Escada and jewellery created by Taiwanese designer Cindy Chao. Violinists and harpists provided the music. The couple's six-tier wedding cake was coated with baby-pink frosting and decorated with peonies.
Although the couple will not be in town for Christmas, they arranged to have a three-metre-tall Christmas tree at the party and held a lighting ceremony. The pair donated all the lai see money they received to the UN children's fund, Unicef. After the party, they were heading to Natterer's hometown in Germany for Christmas.
