Fans say cheese and put themselves in the picture

Fan Cam is the Google Earth of the rugby world. This phenomenal new technology was unveiled at the World Cup in New Zealand last year and is becoming popular at sporting events including some of the other legs of the world series.

Today, Fan Cam will be unleashed in the stadium and for a few moments take the focus off the players and put it all on the spectators: the dress-up diehards; the themed corporate boxes exploding with colour like a kaleidoscope; the matching spectator blazers and polo shirts; and the kids' mini rugby jerseys will all be caught on camera.

Fan Cam is a special 360-degree image of the whole stadium which allows you to zoom in and tag yourself. A high-definition picture of the 40,000 fans inside the stadium will be taken by the HSBC FanCam at 4.30pm - or 16:32:30 hours to be precise - just before the crucial qualifier for third place kicks off.
