TV producers are seeking “divas” to star in a new reality show about “ultra-rich Asian girls” in Vancouver.
The show’s proposed name , stands for “hot bitch in charge”. In a posting on the show’s Facebook page, Veyron Media announced a June 26 casting call.
“Are you the next #HBIC of Vancouver? Centurion Black Amex Card? Hermes, Lanvin, Dior, Louboutin, Chanel, Lambos and Ferraris are all a part of the daily lives of our Divas,” the producers announced.
A promotional trailer for the show uploaded on Sunday shows young Putonghua-speaking women bragging about their lives of material excess as they buy jewellery, attend fashion shows and swig pink champagne from the bottle. The executive producers of the show are identified as Kevin K. Li and Desmond Chen.
“As long as we have fun, who cares about spending a little bit of money,” says one young woman, named as Crystal Chen on the trailer.
It’s unclear whether the young women featured on the trailer are actual “ultra-rich Asian girls” who have already been cast in the show, or actresses.
In other scenes from the trailer, the women wander around Vancouver nightspots and criticise each other’s fashion choices, plastic surgery and personal qualities. “I rely on my confidence to be beautiful,” says Chen, as she mocks a fellow diva’s blue Michael Kors handbag. “Other people who worry about carrying Michael Kors don’t have my confidence.”
The show comes after last year’s cancellation of of Vancouver. The reality show produced by Shaw Media lasted only two seasons.
