Taste of Hong Kong returns to Central Harbourfront for its second year from March 16-19, offering visitors the chance to taste dishes from some of the city’s top restaurants, meet some of our culinary talent and learn more about food and drinks.

Like last year there are 13 Hong Kong restaurants participating, including five new ones – Kaum at Potato Head, Mercato, Okra, Zuma and Rhoda. Each of the restaurants will not only present signature dishes, but also ones exclusive to the four-day festival, which will be revealed at a later date.

Mercato will present its popular house-made ricotta with strawberry compote, olive oil and sourdough bread, while Rhoda will offer tartar of Wild Hereford ox heart with egg yolk puree.

For Indonesian flavour, Kaum at Potato Head will serve pan-fried marinated eel, served with a chargrilled green chilli, shallot and coconut oil relish, while Zuma presents Japanese hakkinton pork that is chargrilled with miso and pickled daikon.

Last year, The Ritz-Carlton Hong Kong’s Tin Lung Heen had one of the longest queues for its barbecued Iberian pork. This this year it is serving double-boiled chicken soup with fish maw in baby coconut; the hotel’s Italian fine-dining restaurant Tosca will have octopus with Amalfi lemon mayonnaise and parsley salad on the menu.

The gourmet festival isn’t just about eating. Laurent Perrier will unveil its La Cuvee for the first time in Asia, while mixologists will give demonstrations of cocktails, and visitors can sit in on round table discussions with the city’s chefs about the latest food trends.

Early bird tickets are available now from HK$108 for weekdays and HK$138 for weekend. HK$548 buys you VIP admission on weekdays, and HK$578 on weekend; included in these prices is priority entry, access to the Taste VIP Lounge, HK$300 worth of official festival currency and three complimentary premium beverages.
