As Christmas decorations go up in stores and as buying a coffee suddenly seems like walking into Santa's grotto, 69 tenants of the city's DNA Galleria in Tsim Sha Tsui are not feeling the cheer. They were ordered out by December 5 after the mall changed owners.
Lung Mei beach wildlife
Starfish and sea urchins were scooped out of the water, other creatures were dug out of the sand: forget builders with bulldozers, children with buckets and spades are now a threat to Lung Mei's marine life. Environmentalists' campaign against an artificial beach on the site has ironically built up the hype and turned it into a family attraction. Protesters have mounted an "ecological guard".
