The series will delve into the back story of Gat Gat Gong, a hairy monster which terrorises a rural village by capturing and devouring young children. According to Pang, the horror tale is based on an original bedtime story that his wife, the producer Subi Liang, heard from her mother when she was a kid.

“I put it into the movie because it’s not often that we come across bedtime stories as scary as this,” Pang wrote on a post on his official Facebook page.

As the third instalment in the romantic comedy series that also includes Love in a Puff (2010) and Love in the Buff (2012), Love Off the Cuff has once again proven its popularity with the Hong Kong audience by taking in more than HK$30 million since its April 27 domestic release.
