Swiss skincare brand La Prairie's doing very well in Hong Kong. So well that it has renovated its Harbour City store just in time for the hordes of self-pamperers sure to descend on it over the Lunar New Year.
And it celebrated its renovation with a star-studded reopening ceremony on Tuesday last week.
Among the soft-skinned celebrities in attendance were former actress, now celebrity yoga instructor Almen Wong and actresses Nicola Cheung Sam-yuet, Sharon Luk Sze-wan and Pauline Yam Bo-Lam.
Inspired by the traditional Lunar New Year reunion of friends, the celebrities sat together and created floral arrangements while swapping beauty tips and answering questions from the audience.
As it turned out, the event was held not just to celebrate the renovation, but also to announce a new line of skincare products, the White Caviar Illuminating Systeme collection.
Party-goers were obviously thrilled with the new line and captivated by the new look of the store, although Luk may have become a bit too caught up in the moment. Looking around the new shop, she was heard to comment: "I should have decorated my house like this."
