Renowned flamenco dancer and choreographer María Pagés sets out to reclaim the myth behind classical opera’s most provocative gypsy. Carmen, as it’s been told throughout the years, has been largely a male-dominated endeavour that Pagés, along with her dance company, are determined to retell from a female perspective.

Tallis Vocalis, Hong Kong’s foremost Renaissance vocal ensemble, have handed the conductor’s baton to University of Cambridge music director Geoffrey Webber for their Easter concert. Gregorio Allegri’s Miserere, which will be performed together with James MacMillan’s contemporary version of the piece, will no doubt be the highlights of the evening, along with music by Hans Leo Hassler, Thomas Tallis and others.
