Play like a pro: stretch for fluidity

For golfers, stretching is essential to avoid cramps and loosen the muscles to ensure that our swing is fluid.

As an Asian Tour professional, I am at the golf course two hours before tee time to ensure I have good warm-up sessions at the driving range and putting green.

For amateurs who do not have time for a good stretching session, I suggest doing the following exercise. It will help you achieve a more fluid golf swing. Remember to keep your back and hands straight at all times.

Use a resistance band and set it up such that it forms the shape of a pentagon with your arms. Ensure that you step on the band and that your fingers have a firm grip to avoid the band from slipping.

Position yourself in a golf swing stance and slowly rotate your body. Visualise that you are hitting a golf ball.
