What constitutes a good day at the office? Closing a big deal, perhaps, or not getting yelled at by your boss? Or what about a neck and shoulder massage? OK, maybe not from that angry boss - but how about a visit from the therapists at the Plateau Spa in Wan Chai's Grand Hyatt hotel?
Not every employer will see the spa's roaming massage service as the best way to maximise productivity, but others might reflect that stress-busting could have a hidden value of its own: relaxed and focused, staff may be more likely to meet deadlines or come up with new ideas to beat competitors.
As the press release that landed on our desk late on Friday afternoon - as we were all extremely hard at work, of course - has it: "[It] allows companies to pamper their employees at their workplace or … add a refreshing element to the often strenuous meeting agenda."
The service can be booked by any employer in the city, it says (even on Tai Po Industrial Estate?), with eight 15-minute treatment sessions by one therapist (the minimum request is for two hours) costing HK$1,980. Additional therapists can be sent over, if there is the demand.
Treatments include "crackberry" hand massages and a going over on the neck and shoulders with grape seed oil, while the service can involve turning your office into a temporary spa, with the help of candles and soothing music.
Plateau Spa is located at 11/F, Grand Hyatt Hong Kong, 1 Harbour Road, Wan Chai. For inquiries, call 2584 7688 or email email@example.com .
