Courtney loveAnya Hindmarch's visit to Hong Kong last month persuaded us to revisit her clever spring-summer collection and, in particular, the Courtney pouch bags with oversized tassels. The mustard damask version (below; HK$5,450) is bright and sunny while the Valentine (bottom; also HK$5,450) is wonderfully tongue-in-cheek. Anya Hindmarch is in The Landmark, Central, tel: 3693 4133.

Tall order Alexander Wang's shoes are becoming something of an obsession. Super modern and effortlessly cool, his designs for summer are again on our "to buy" list. Too hot for knee-highs? Have it both ways with his cut-out gladiator boot (above left; HK$10,500). Then there are the clean, pure lines of the heeled sandal with see-through upper (above right; HK$6,500). Alexander Wang is available at On Pedder at Joyce, Gateway Arcade, Harbour City, Tsim Sha Tsui, tel: 2118 3470.

Hot debut Pick up a piece of fashion history with Hedi Slimane's debut collection for Saint Laurent. The divisive wunderkind has played with tuxedo styles and louche, 1970s-inspired looks, perfect for hot summer evenings. We like the ethereal vibe of the lightweight, floor-length dress (above left; HK$62,650) that's ruffled at the neck and has exaggerated sleeves. Cinch it at the waist with the thick tassel belt (HK$6,450). For something more androgynous (and we know how Slimane likes to play with gender), there is the outfit of fitted tuxedo jacket (HK$23,750), skinny trousers (HK$6,250), waistcoat (HK$8,150) and white shirt (HK$16,550), topped off with an oversized black bow (HK$2,850) and Mary Janes (all above right; HK$7,250). The wide-brimmed hats (both above right; HK$9,995 each) are our favourite items of the season. Saint Laurent Paris is in Alexandra House, Central, tel: 2868 0092.
