1.  Short and sweet Seasoned designer Stella McCartney has given a few nostalgic nods to her spring-summer collection this year, with bold colours and subtle 1970s-inspired touches. We particularly like yellow snakeskin-print dress (right; HK$12,500), as well as the similarly coloured lace heart dress (left; HK$17,800). For something a little more subtle, there's the black sleeveless top (HK$7,900) paired with pleated trousers with a fun matchstick print (HK$8,200; centre). Stella McCartney is in The Landmark, Central, tel: 2801 6793.

2.  Fingers crossed One of our favourite jewellers is the Italian house of Bulgari. We love how it pairs old-school glamour with new-school innovation while keeping everything fashion forward, which is harder than it sounds for a high-jewellery brand. Red carpets the world over are no stranger to the label but, as our diary lacks celebrity-studded awards ceremonies, we'll focus on the simpler, more accessible items, such as the chunky B.Zero1 rings that are a collaboration with artist Anish Kapoor. Our favourites are the pavé diamond ring (top; HK$63,400), the stunning green marble version (left centre; HK$10,300) and the super modern steel number (HK$9,400). Bulgari is in Chater House, Central, tel: 2523 8057.
