A retired official in China’s central Henan province is being investigated after photos of him having sex with a former mistress appeared online, China’s Southern Metropolis Daily reported this week.
“He would videotape every act of sexual intercourse and intimate poses of porn stars,” said the mistress. "Then he would watch it afterwards,” she said.
The mistress, Zou Li (not her real name), claimed that Zhang Minqiang, former head of Shangqiu city's Bureau of Letters and Calls, threatened to kill her and her son after she demanded tht he pay her back money he owed, the report said.
Zhang also hired thugs to harrass her and keep her quiet, Zou revealed.
Fearful for her safety and that of her family, Zou decided to tell the media about the affair. This was because she believed the local police were untrustworthy.
Zou said she met Zhang in 2006 after submitting a complaint to the Bureau of Letters and Calls. Zhang appeared sympathetic and promised to find her a job in the government. He demanded a 100,000 yuan bribe in return.
After Zou acquiesced and paid him the money. Zhang then took her to a dinner and got her drunk. After Zou lost consciousness, Zhang raped her, the report said.
Since then Zhang had continually forced Zou to have sex with him and demanded more money, said Zou.
Zou said she had “lent” Zhang several hundred thousand yuan over the years. Zhang had written her invoices for the money, but had never paid any back.
Zou also reported told police that Zhang and his family owned a lot of luxurious properties.
The government has launched an official investigation.
The case has become a popular discussion topic on China's Sina Weibo,
"He headed the bureau which is supposed to help people," commented a netizen, adding: "What is the bottom line for our officials?"
