Chinese motorcyclist wanted after boy, 5, knocked down and dumped near bin 2km away
Police offer reward for suspect who allegedly told witnesses he would take child to hospital but then tried to ‘dispose’ of him

Police in northwestern China are offering a 2,000 yuan (US$300) reward for information about a motorcyclist alleged to have been involved in a “hit-and-move” incident involving a five-year-old boy, local media reported.
The incident happened on a rainy day last week in Hanzhong, Shaanxi province, as the child was playing in the street while his mother sold noodles at a nearby market, Huashang Daily reported on Sunday.
According to a watermelon vendor who claimed to have witnessed the event, the motorbike knocked the boy down and rolled over his leg. After the crash, the child was unable to stand up and his face was covered in blood, the report said.
The boy told onlookers that his mother was working nearby, but after about 10 minutes of no one coming to take care of him, the motorcyclist was instructed to call an ambulance. He instead said he would take the child to hospital on his motorbike, and rode off with him.
Some time later, however, the man was spotted trying to dump the child into a large refuse bin about two kilometres from the scene of the initial incident, the report said.
A second witness was quoted as saying that when the suspect realised he had been seen, he dropped the boy beside the dumpster, jumped on his motorcycle and rode off.
The witness called an ambulance and the child was taken to hospital where he was treated for a broken leg and multiple cuts and bruises.

Despite several people seeing the motorcyclist, because of the wet weather and the fact he was wearing a raincoat and glasses, no one was able to give a good description of him, the report said.
Many internet users were incensed after reading about the latest incident of “hit-and-move”.
“This is inhumane,” a person wrote on Weibo, the Chinese equivalent of Twitter.
“You didn’t save him after you injured him and cut off [the] chances of him being saved by others by dumping him in a dumpster. What trash!”
Another person wrote: “This is worse than murder. The animal must be severely punished after he is caught.”
Earlier this month, a woman in Harbin, capital of northeast China’s Heilongjiang province, was charged with suspected murder after knocking down an elderly man while driving her tricycle.
With the help of three male friends, the woman then drove the victim several kilometres away from the scene of the crash and left him to fend for himself. The man later died from his injuries and the four suspects were arrested, local media reported at the time.
