Home burglars flee with HK$1m in goods

Police are hunting four burglars who stole a safe containing HK$1 million worth of watches and jewellery from a 29-year-old mainland businessman's home in Kam Shue Road, Sai Kung. The men, who wore surgical masks, tied up two maids before ransacking the house. Later, the maids were able to untie themselves and called the police.

 

Suu Kyi finally handed award from HKU

A delegation from the University of Hong Kong was able to present an honorary doctorate to Myanmese opposition leader Aung San Suu Kyi in person, months after awarding her the honour in absentia, at her home in Naypyidaw on Tuesday.

 

Coroner orders inquest into fatal surgery

The coroner has ordered an inquest into the death of a 52-year-old man who died of a haemorrhage in North District Hospital after the removal of a polyp from his lungs.

 

Driver dies after crash at autotoll booth

A 36-year-old van driver died after his vehicle crashed and burned at an autotoll booth at the entrance of Eagle's Nest Tunnel in Sha Tin. Police believe the driver crashed during an attempt to change lanes.
